Biography

Cassandra Peters is a Program Coordinator for MBSAQIP at the American College of Surgeons. She received her BA in Liberal Arts and Sciences from The University of Illinois at Chicago, majoring in Cognitive Psychology with a minor in Sociology with an emphasis on Gender and Women’s Studies. Prior to being a Program Coordinator, Cassandra joined ACS as the MBSAQIP Program Assistant.

Previous to her work at ACS, Cassandra was a research assistant at the UIC Memory Lab under Dr. Karl Szpunar helping to research the psychology of future thinking. Additionally, she has executive experience as the former Vice President and Corporate Secretary of a small packaging machinery firm. In addition to her vast work experience, Cassandra currently serves as a volunteer Coach and Mentor for One Million Degrees, where she supports community college students with diverse backgrounds, coaching them through challenges, and celebrating their successes. Cassandra is an alumni member of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, Psi Beta National Honor Society, and Psi Chi International Honor Society in Psychology. She currently resides in Chicago with her husband Brian, their son Bryce, and their dog Kaylee.
