Biography

Evans Kennard Simmons, PA-C began his career in medicine in 1989 as an Army Combat Medic. His deployments in the Army brought him to a multitude of countries such as Thailand, Guam, Egypt, Germany, Italy, Haiti, and Saudi Arabia.

In 1997 he began his pursuit into the Physician Assistant profession. Through the Army, he started the Inter-Service Physician Assistant Program in San Antonio, Texas and ultimately received his Bachelors and Master’s degrees in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska.

Following his retirement from the Army in 2003, Evans continued his career as a Physician Assistant at Yale New Haven Hospital starting in 2003. He many years on the Transplant Surgery Service, and now practices on the Colon and Rectal Surgery and MIS/Bariatric Surgery Services. As he continues his clinical practice as a Physician Assistant, his passion remains in the community to confront the social obstacles that provides access to care.
