Biography

After I graduated from the medical school of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2020, I decided to explore my academic interests and increase my research experience by joining a highly professional and productive research team in the Department of Surgery at Indiana University Indianapolis.

Currently, I am a postdoctoral research fellow engaged mainly in projects related to Bariatric Surgery, MIS, and the education of healthcare professionals, and I am determined to invest in some productive research years before chasing a General Surgery residency position.

Further, I am an active member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) research committee, participating in several research projects and educational activities. I am confident that my research interests and skills will help me push forward and support the efforts of the bariatric surgeons’ community to improve the effectiveness and quality of bariatric healthcare.
