Biography

Marielle H. Collins, Ph.D. received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UT Southwestern) and is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Cleveland Clinic with a major rotation at the Bariatric and Metabolic Institute.

Her doctoral research focused on examining the impact of brief mindfulness interventions within medical settings, specifically integrating a short mindfulness video at a women’s clinic to address anxiety and pain related to medical exams. As a fellow she works to integrate mindfulness with surgical and non-surgical weight management patients through the development of group interventions, in addition to completing psycho-diagnostic evaluations and treatment to improve readiness for surgery.

Dr. Collins is also a certified personal trainer (American Council on Exercise), with experience in wellness coaching, individual training, and group fitness. She integrates her passions for exercise and mindfulness to create an emphasis on promoting physical activity and mind body practices with bariatric surgery patients.
