Biography
Dr. Fauzi Feris was born Colombia where he finished medical school in 2019. As a young physician-scientist he proceeded to attain ECFMG certification while working as a research fellow in the "Precision medicine for Obesity" lab at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota.
His main area of interest revolves around studying the homeostatic adaptations following metabolic & bariatric surgery, and the mechanisms behind weight-loss.
Throughout 2021 he has worked on retrospective and prospective studies aiming to unmask some of the reasons behind the inter-individual variability in weight-loss response to metabolic & bariatric surgery. He aims to characterize why certain patient populations don’t display ideal weight-loss response following metabolic & bariatric surgery, ways to predict this poor weight-loss response and therapeutic tools to help these populations.
