Biography

Valerie Halpin is a Bariatric Surgeon and Medical Director of the Legacy Weight and Diabetes Institute at Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland, OR. She is Fellowship Program Director of the Legacy Bariatric Surgery Fellowship. In addition, she is the Surgery Department Chair at Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital and a Senior Medical Director for Legacy Health.

She has an appointment as a Clinical Professor at Washington State University Elsen S. Floyd College of Medicine. Valerie volunteers in the community as a board member of Self Enhancement Inc. (SEI) and Northwest Outward Bound School. In her free time she enjoys soccer, downhill skiing, waterskiing, and theater.
