Biography

Dr. Aaron Hamann, PsyD is a Senior Staff Psychologist in the Bariatric Surgery Department of Henry Ford Health System. Dr. Hamann has over a decade of specialized training in treating eating disorders, maladaptive eating, and obesity medicine and collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient care and facilitate sustained success. Dr. Hamann and his team currently conduct the pre-surgical psychological evaluations, follow-ups, and support groups for bariatric patients. Dr. Hamann received his B.A. in Clinical Psychology from Pennsylvania State University and his M.S. and Doctorate of Psychology from Nova Southeastern University in Florida. He completed his pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship at a residential treatment center for eating disorders.
