Biography
Dr. L. Renee Hilton is the Section Chief of Minimally Invasive Surgery and an Assistant Professor at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University Medical Center. She is also the Director of Bariatric Surgery as well as the Center of Obesity and Metabolism at Augusta University.
She completed her general surgery residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital at the University of Miami in Miami, Florida and then fellowship in bariatric and minimally invasive surgery at Yale University. She has served in multiple leadership roles within the GA ASMBS chapter and is currently serving as S.T.A.R.
She is the principal investigator on numerous studies and her primary research interests include obesity, bariatric and minimally invasive surgery, and surgical education and simulation. She is also a wife and mother and currently resides and practices in Augusta, Georgia.
