Biography

Maria Iliakova, MD is a surgeon currently completing Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery Fellowship at Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey. She completed General Surgery Residency at the University of Missouri – Kansas City (UMKC). She earned her medical degree at the University of Kansas. Prior to medical school, she completed a Fulbright Fellowship in proteomics at the Center for Genomic Regulation in Barcelona, Spain, and a Master’s degree in Bioinformatics at Georgetown University. She majored in Biology, Chemistry, and Spanish as an undergraduate at UMKC.
