Biography

Angela Marie Lomas is a current 4th year General Surgery Resident at the University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley in affiliation with Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg, Texas. She completed a general surgery intern year at the University of Texas McGovern Medical School in Houston, Texas after earning her Medical Doctorate from Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine.

During medical school and before starting Residency, she worked in a Biosafety level II lab where she published work studying blunt head trauma and vascular permeability under immunofluorescence and the effects of utilizing different biomarkers. She has also provided medical services for indigenous people of Costa Rica and Panama during a Summer Medical Assistance Trip that she hopes to be able to continue in the future if given the opportunity. Her current interests include Minimally Invasive Surgical Techniques with emphasis on Bariatric Surgical Procedures. She is looking forward to networking with surgeons in the field and expanding her knowledge and skills on current research and technology.
