Biography

I have been an RN for 13 years and was a medical assistant for 14 years prior. As an RN I have worked in LTC, Med/Surg, ER and OR. I worked in the OR for 5 years prior to transitioning to the Bariatric Patient Navigator. My work experience throughout my nursing career has given me the opportunity to care for a variety of patients, including the bariatric population on the Med/Surg unit, post op complications presenting to the ER and as a circulating nurse in the OR. As a navigator I use that experience to educate and advocate for my patients. I have been in my current role as Bariatric Patient Navigator for just over a year. I have chaired the Performance Improvement committee for 3 years in a previous role.
