Biography

Currently a Clinical Professor of Surgery at Stanford University Medical School I split my time between Pediatric MBS at Stanford Children’s Health, Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital and the PALO Alto VA where I specialize in MBS and Abdominal Wall Reconstruction. I perform predominately MIS and Robotic Surgery. I am passionate about the treatment of obesity as a chronic disease, dispelling myths about the disease and assuring that children have access to obesity care in time to reduce long-term morbidity and mortality. I enjoy teaching at all levels and mentoring residents, premeds and teens. I have been intimately involved in creating and advancing evidence based guidelines for the treatment of obesity in children.
