Biography

Rick Seip, PhD, is Senior Scientist & Project Manager with the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Center at Hartford Hospital, where he actively engages in clinical research to better understand responses to bariatric surgery. He is an exercise physiologist with >25 years’ experience in human metabolic, lipid, genetic, exercise, and clinical bariatric research. He has served on research teams associated with a number of federally funded, multi-center studies, and has co-authored >100 peer-reviewed publications and four book chapters. His clinical experience includes >2000 hours of patient contact as an exercise physiologist in Phase III Cardiac Rehabilitation.
