Biography

Ila Sethi is a second-year medical student at the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University. Ila graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2020 with a degree in Health and Societies.

Ila is passionate about fostering women’s empowerment in medicine and surgery and currently serves as President of Stony Brook’s American Women Medical Association and Chair of the Trainee Committee of Women Leadership in Surgery Society. She also founded the inaugural chapter of the Association of Women’s Surgeons at Stony Brook.

Ila also has an interest in conducting surgical outcomes research and is pursuing a Scholarly Concentration in Research under the mentorship of Dr. Aurora Pryor. Ila hopes to pursue a career in surgery in the future.
