Biography

Dr. Spaniolas is a Professor of Surgery at Stony Brook University. He has extensive experience in the fields of bariatric and foregut surgery, both primary and revisional. He is the Director of Bariatric Surgery at Long Island Community Hospital, and Associate Director for the Stony Brook Bariatric and Metabolic Weight Loss Center. He has published extensively in the field of bariatric, minimally invasive surgery and type 2 diabetes, and has an active interest in enhanced recovery after bariatric surgery.
