Biography
CDR Tamara Worlton graduated from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU) with an MD in 2003 and her General Surgery residency at National Naval Medical Center in 2008. She went on to complete a fellowship in Bariatric Surgery at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio 2010. She is an Associate Professor of Surgery at USU and serves as the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Director and Director of Global Surgery at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. CDR Worlton served as ship’s surgeon on an aircraft carrier, deployed to Afghanistan, Djibouti and has done 3 humanitarian assistance and disaster relief missions on US Navy hospital ships. She is currently a Fulbright Scholar researching trauma systems in Sri Lanka.
