Description
In this panel, we will have a multidisciplinary panel of experts, consisting of four thoughtful clinicians and researchers covering the topic of “what to do about cannabis” in our practices. The lively panel will start with an up-to-date overview of the research and pre-surgical clinical considerations on cannabis use by our behavioral health expert, Dr. Kasey Goodpaster. It will follow with a summary of novel research on postoperative cannabis use by Dr. Denise Vidot, an epidemiologist. Our two highly respected and expert bariatric surgeons, Dr. Kunoor Jain-Spangler and Dr. Farah
Husain, will then share their thoughts on cannabis use and general clinical practices, and will represent approaches ranging from “more conservative to more liberal approaches”. We will then conclude with a healthy discussion and question and answer period moderated by our course Co-Director and clinical psychologist, Dr. Kelli Friedman.
