Biography

Emily L. Thevis, MBA, RDN, CSOWM, CDCES received her Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences from Louisiana State University in 2011, and recently graduated in December 2021 with her Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Administration Systems. She is a Certified Specialist in Obesity and Weight Management, as well as a Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist. Her professional passion lies in bariatric surgery, though she has transitioned into being a physician liaison with the General Surgery, Heart & Vascular, Oncology, and GI service lines for Memorial Hermann in Houston, Texas. She has prior experience working as an outpatient dietitian in both weight management and diabetes clinic settings, has been a clinical data reviewer, bariatric coordinator, and a Diabetes Prevention Program lifestyle coach. She currently serves on the Integrated Health Communications Committee for the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and is a co-director for the IH Nutrition Pre-conference courses.
